Regional groups

Engineers Australia is a national organisation with offices in every state and territory. The state offices provide services to Engineers Australia members living in those locations and facilitate a variety of regional and state-based groups with interests that affect their local area and further afield.

Central Coast

The Central Coast Rivers group spans the area from the Hawkesbury River to Wyong, including postcodes in the range of 2250 - 2263. The membership base in the area is approximately 520 engineers of various disciplines and expertise.

The group is a multi-disciplinary network of engineers with members who live in the central coast region of NSW welcome to join the committee.

The group is led by an active committee who actively supports school programs to promote the profession to students. The group also plans local CPD and social events.

Illawarra

The Illawarra/Sutherland Regional group covers an area extending from Sutherland in the south of Sydney to the south in Kiama and the Illawarra escarpment to the west. This region has approximately 2000 members.

Members and guests are welcome to support and attend our activities including young engineers and women in engineering.

Riverina

The Riverina regional group covers the area from the Victorian border in the south to West Wyalong/Young in the north, and east to the Snowy Mountains.

The Committee meets monthly to organise a site visits and technical presentations for members in the region. The group is also actively involved in promoting the engineering profession to high school students across the Riverina.

The group also participates in the 'Build-a-Bridge…and get over it' program organised by the Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils, Questacon presentations, and Robocup programs.

The Shoalhaven regional group of Engineers Australia meet four times a year for technical seminars on general engineering topics or a site visit to an engineering project.  The group also conducts networking and social events as well as an AGM each March.

Southern Highlands and Tablelands

The Southern Highlands and Tablelands regional group works to promote engineering to schools and the community in the area. The participates in Careers Advice to Schools, a regional science and engineering challenge program for high school students and organises monthly dinner seminars on topics of major interest to engineers and the wider community.

Sydney Migrant Engineers

The Sydney Migrant Engineers Group supports engineers who have overseas qualifications and who would like to continue their engineering careers in Australia.

Western Sydney

The Western Sydney regional group was established in 1991 to enable engineers in western Sydney to showcase their work and provide professional development opportunities in the area.

The group holds a large number of events including continuing professional development, site visits and technical presentations for engineers in all areas of practice. The group includes engineering professionals across the civil, electrical, mechatronics, environmental, structural and ITEE colleges as well as young engineers who organise events for young engineers and students.
